2023 Global Aerial Work Platform Manufacturers Ranking

JLG and Terex AWP (including Genie) retained their first and second positions, respectively, in the rankings. Joining these two aerial equipment giants in the top six are two other long-standing large-scale general-purpose aerial equipment producers, Skyjack and Haulotte.

As has been the case in recent years, relatively young Chinese manufacturers such as XCMG, Dingli, Zoomlion and LGMG have joined the list, all of which have made the top ten. XCMG is the highest-ranking Chinese company this year, ranking third, with its US dollar revenue exceeding $1 billion for the first time.

Another notable move among Chinese manufacturers came from Sunward, which more than tripled its revenue in its aerial work vehicle division. As a large, integrated construction equipment manufacturer in China, the company is a relatively late entrant into the market.

This milestone reflects the dominance of Chinese manufacturers in their home country, which has been the stage for their huge growth over the past five to seven years. These manufacturers are continuing to expand into Europe and North America. Coupled with the maturity of the Chinese access market, the next five years will be a critical period for these manufacturers.

Beyond that, the table shows a steady, healthy upward trend as manufacturers adapt to the challenges and opportunities facing the modern access control industry.
